My name is Pipe Major Gordon Haggerty and I have been playing the highland bagpipes for over twenty years, originally in juvenile and progressing to senior bands. Since 1999 I have been playing semi-professionally as a solo piper, and together with a duo of highland dancers, I have been entertaining people all over Central Scotland, between Glasgow and Stirling. I am also the resident piper for the Buchanan Arms Hotel in Drymen (Loch Lomond) and play there regularly for weddings, tourist parties, burns suppers, corporate events and VIPs. At present I am the Pipe Major for Balaklava Pipes & Drums, based in Stirling, Scotland, and in the summer of 2009 I travelled to Uralsk, Kazakhstan at the invitation of a technical training college to play at their graduation day for students. In December 2O11 I travelled to Millan, Italy to play at a birthday party for a restauranteur.
You will see in my gallery that I have quite a selection of highland dress, including Ancient Caledonian tartan (red), Loch Lomond-Argyll tartan (blue), Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders tartan (green) and Black tartan for the more solemn occasion. Most of these kilts can be worn as either Full No.1, evening dress, day wear, or casual, and can be mixed to suit your requirements or choice. I play an extensive array of traditional bagpipe music to a very high standard, using Henderson bagpipes with a McCallum chanter. I am sure that I will always have something to suit your needs so please contact me to discuss any requests that you might have, or complete my contact form with any information you think I may require to make your day a special event. I am based in Central Scotland (Stirlingshire) and will travel any distance, but please note that travelling a great distance will have an effect on prices. Please offer full details at time of booking in order for an accurate quote to be given.
Whatever your requirements are - if you need a Personal Solo Piper, Multiple Pipers, a mini or full Band, or Highland Dancers, for any function or event - I can fit the bill.
And remember that old fashioned saying......
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT
